At Stuart Hall, we understand and celebrate boys.

It’s science. Boys learn differently.

There is extensive research into the way that boys and girls learn and it is now evident that boys and girls do learn differently for biological and educational reasons.

Boys learn best through movement, hands-on activities, spatial and visual experiences, play, and cooperative assignments. An all-boys environment helps to foster lifelong friendships and form a brotherhood among classmates.

Stuart Hall is a school built for boys and designed to help them thrive.

  • Preschool

At the Preschool level, Stuart Hall focuses on learning through discovery with hands-on experiences that foster a love for learning. Opportunities for emotional and social development are emphasized through centers-based thematic units, which allow the boys to work both collaboratively with their peers and in small groups with strong teacher-to-student ratios.

  • Lower School

Creativity and intellectual curiosity are encouraged within a strong academic framework in the Lower School. All of the programs are enriched through specialization classes in art, library, music, physical education, computer, and French.

  • Middle School

The Middle School provides an atmosphere that assists each student in developing strong self-esteem through opportunities of self-discovery. All of the core academic programs are enriched through specialization classes in art, library, music, physical education, computer, Spanish and Latin.

A training ground for servant leaders.

In the classrooms, halls, and grounds of the school’s Uptown campus, boys become leaders — in school, their homes, their careers, and their communities. The structure and mission of the school create an environment that values character formation as much as academic rigor. Stuart Hall holds this high standard of behavior to encourage the transformation of boys into young men.

Boys are encouraged to discover their own special gifts, to cultivate a strong sense of self-worth, and to develop competence. Stuart Hall challenges each boy to use all of his gifts wisely and to accept responsibility for his actions. Beginning in PK3, all of the programs at Stuart Hall are enriched through technology. Boys attend specialization classes in world language, religion, counseling, art, library, music, METALS, and physical education.

Stuart Hall immerses boys in a supportive, character-based culture in which he can thrive inside and outside the classroom. From our boy-centered curriculum to our supportive atmosphere to the breadth of extra curricular, athletic, and after school activities, Stuart Hall’s focus on formation produces young men of character, integrity, and boundless capability.

The Stuart Hall experience is about formation of the entire boy. It’s about eye contact and a firm handshake. It’s about building a foundation for a life centered on a love for learning, a desire to help others, and a commitment to Gospel values. It’s about teaching boys to be Kind, Courteous, Respectful, and Responsible.

The difference is formation.
