Birthday Cutoff
The birthday cut off is June 1 for all applicants.
Application Process
At Stuart Hall School for Boys, our admissions process is designed to provide a comprehensive and thoughtful understanding of each applicant. While we value insights from our community members, letters of recommendation — beyond the teacher recommendation requested by the school — are not required as part of the admissions process. The Admissions Committee carefully reviews each candidate’s application to ensure a strong fit with our mission and values. The evaluation process includes the application, campus visit, and age-appropriate assessments. Families are encouraged to provide all requested materials within the established timeline to ensure a complete and equitable review.

FAQ
-
The June 1st birthday cut-off is in place to help ensure that each boy is developmentally ready—socially, emotionally, and academically—for the next step in educational journey.
We recognize that boys mature at their own pace, and that a few extra months can make a meaningful difference in confidence, attention, and classroom participation.
This approach supports our focus on the whole child and reinforces our belief that strong social-emotional foundations lead to lifelong success.

Class sizes at Stuart Hall School for Boys range from 14 to 18 students, depending on the grade level. Our small classes allow teachers to truly know each boy and provide the individual attention that supports his growth and confidence.
In PK3 and PK4, there are two full-time teachers with a floating assistant who supports both classrooms. Kindergarten also has two teachers, creating a smooth bridge between early learning and the lower grades.
In 1st and 2nd grade, each class has a lead teacher and shares a floating assistant. Beginning in 3rd grade, boys switch classes by subject, helping them gain independence as they prepare for Middle School.

After you submit your application, you’ll receive a letter in the mail outlining the next steps in the admissions process. An electronic checklist will also be available through your myKnights account to help you track any remaining items and stay informed throughout the process.

It’s never too early to visit Stuart Hall, but we recommend scheduling your private tour during the fall prior to the year your son would begin school.
Visiting closer to the application year allows families to experience campus life in full swing—meeting teachers, seeing classrooms in action, and getting a true feel for our community.
Private tours are available by appointment and offer a personalized way to learn about the Stuart Hall experience.
-
Yes. Each year, Stuart Hall receives more applications than there are spaces available. We advise prospective families to apply to more than one school.
