Welcome from the Head of School

“Education is formation, not just information.”

Welcome from Peter S. Kernion, D.Ed.

Welcome to Stuart Hall School for Boys, the only all-boys independent Catholic PK–7th grade school in the New Orleans area.

Here at Stuart Hall, we focus on the complete formation of each boy, including character development, academic rigor, and spiritual formation. This is summed up in the words of Catholic educator Janet Erskine Stuart, RSCJ: “Education is formation, not just information.”

Each boy's formation is centered on the four pillars of Stuart Hall: Leadership, Scholarship, Faith, and Honor. We provide a supportive culture that emphasizes the distinctive ways boys learn. Ultimately, our students thrive in this environment and experience great success both in and out of the classroom as they continue to develop into the great men God intends them to be.

For over forty years, Stuart Hall has been educating young men and helping them grow into leaders who use their God-given talents to make a difference in their communities. We continue the legacy of excellence begun by our founder, Mr. William Gallop, and cultivated by his successor, Mr. Kevin Avin.

I am honored to be part of a school community that works tirelessly together to help our students build a foundation for a life centered on a love of learning, a desire to help others, and a commitment to Gospel values.
