Before Care & Extended Day

Before Care, Extended Day, and After School Activities

Stuart Hall offers Before Care from 7:15 a.m. to 8 a.m., when the school day begins. (no fee)

Extended Day and After School activities are offered to all students. The Extended Day program is offered from 3:30 - 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 2:30 - 5:30 p.m. on Wednesdays. Families may sign up daily, weekly, or per semester.

After-school activities are fee-based and require online registration. Class sizes are limited for some activities and will fill on a first-come, first-served basis, beginning after Labor Day. These classes change each semester, giving the boys various program opportunities throughout the year. Sports, Music for the Masses (after-school music program), and other school-sponsored extracurricular programs are offered in addition to the after-school activities.

  • for PK3 Boys

    Activities
    FUNdamentals - learn the basic concepts of several team games/sports in an environment focused on fun, sportsmanship, and teamwork.

    Soccer Knights
    - introduces the fundamentals of soccer in a fun way to ensure every student has the opportunity to achieve success in a group setting. Each student will receive a SoccerKnights tee shirt and be introduced to the basics of soccer, learn the basic values of being a good teammate, and participate in a fun and positive environment.

    Tots and Pots - provides a cooking experience each week based on a children’s picture book. The classes encompass math skills through measuring, counting, and sequencing. The hands-on experiences allow the boys to explore while using their senses by tasting, touching, and smelling! Trying new foods and improving their social skills through teamwork, sharing, and taking turns adds another dimension of learning for these young chefs.

     
  • for PK4 Boys

    Activities
    Soccer Knights introduces the fundamentals of soccer in a fun way, ensuring every student has the opportunity to succeed in a group setting. Each student will receive a SoccerKnights tee shirt, be introduced to the basics of soccer, learn the basic values of being a good teammate, and participate in a fun, positive environment.

    Tots and Pots - provides a cooking experience each week based on a children’s picture book. The classes encompass math skills through measuring, counting, and sequencing. The hands-on experiences allow the boys to explore while using their senses by tasting, touching, and smelling!     Activities
    Construction Club - explores the exciting world of building and design! Boys will use creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving to plan and construct projects using materials like blocks, cardboard, craft sticks, and recycled items. Students will learn basic building concepts as they bring their ideas to life—one blueprint at a time!

    Fine Motor Fanatics - develops fine motor skills through engaging and playful activities that boost hand-eye coordination, finger strength, and dexterity. Students will engage in hands-on, creative, and educational activities, all while keeping the fun front and center. The activities are engaging, age-appropriate, and perfect for young kids as they master the basics of drawing, writing, cutting, and more!

    Karate - teaches karate etiquette (rules of conduct in the gym), the basic techniques of Olympic karate, physical training, and the Japanese names of the techniques taught by Sensei Sergiy Dolinnyi, the former head coach of the National Karate Team of Ukraine from 2018-2019. Students will need to purchase a karate uniform after the first class and sign a waiver.

    Noble Artists Club - focuses on creating 2 to 3 in-depth sculptures and/or drawings/paintings. Students will have a good amount of creative freedom within the parameters of each project. Possibilities include grid portraits inspired by artists like Chuck Close, Surrealist boxes inspired by Joseph Cornell, and arm/ face casting, to name a few. Students may bring their own ideas into the mix and perhaps make a piece of their choosing with direct guidance from Mr. Jason DuMouchel

    Chess Club -  prepares weekly lessons to prepare boys for their recreational and competitive goals. Throughout this semester, there will be tournament opportunities through Crescent City Chess.

    The Knights of Hogwarts - invites students to step into the magical world of Hogwarts through hands-on creative learning, teamwork, and imagination. Each week, members will attend a themed class, such as potions, charms, herbology, or Quidditch, while earning house points for teamwork, creativity, and participation. Students will be sorted into houses, create magical crafts, experiment with safe “potions,” and finish the session with a House Cup Celebration Feast.

    To Tinker and Beyond! - provides an opportunity for boys to further explore topics of interest through designing, building, interactive games, and hands-on activities. Whether challenges are done in small groups or individually, each week is a new, fun experience!
  • for Second Grade Boys
